Build your dream workflow with Databar today.

Short answer: Choose Lusha if your reps reveal emails and phone numbers one contact at a time from LinkedIn, Gmail or a CRM and you want that to be fast, simple and backed by SOC 2 and ISO 27701. Choose Databar if you enrich whole lists or CRM objects, want several providers tried per record, and need company data, AI research and CRM writes in the same workflow.

Lusha and Databar both put contact data into your CRM, but they start from opposite ends. Lusha is a single contact database with a polished browser extension on top. Databar is a workspace that runs 160+ data providers, including waterfalls for emails and phones, across tables, the API, the CLI and an MCP server. This comparison covers pricing, data sources, phone numbers, API and bulk limits, compliance, and where each one clearly wins. Lusha details were checked on lusha.com/pricing in September 2026.

A verified email costs 1 credit and a phone number costs 5. On monthly Pro and Premium plans, unused credits roll over up to twice the monthly allowance. On annual plans you get all credits upfront, and anything unused resets at the end of the year. For a deeper look at Lusha's tiers, see our Lusha pricing breakdown.

Databar prices by workspace, not by reveal type. Build is $99/month with 5,000 credits and Scale is $495/month with 50,000 credits. Each provider in the catalog has its own credit price, shown before you run it. Lookups that return no data aren't charged, and in a waterfall only the provider that returns data is billed.

Here's how the cost of one phone number can compare, as arithmetic from list prices rather than a quote. On Lusha Pro monthly, $69.90 buys 600 credits, about $0.12 per credit, so a 5-credit phone reveal is roughly $0.58. On Databar Build, a credit is about $0.02. Phone providers in Databar's phone waterfall range from 8 to 48 credits (about $0.16 to $0.95 on Build), and you choose which ones to include and in what order. Real cost per found number depends on how often each provider finds your contacts, so test on your own list before deciding.

Where does the data come from?

Lusha sells its own database. Its data page explains that part of it comes from a community program, where members share business email headers and signature blocks. One source means one consistent experience: a reveal either returns a contact or it doesn't, and you're dealing with one vendor.

Databar doesn't own a contact database. It connects you to 160+ providers and lets you chain them. For phone numbers, the phone waterfall can try Databar's in-house lookup, LeadMagic, Upcell, Limadata, Prospeo, Pubrio, People Data Labs, Findymail, Forager and Datagma, and can validate what it finds. Email waterfalls work the same way, with verifiers like ZeroBounce at the end. The trade-off: more coverage options and control, but more decisions about provider order and cost. How waterfall enrichment works explains the mechanics, and best phone number enrichment tools compares the phone providers themselves. Lusha isn't in Databar's catalog, so this is an either/or choice rather than a combination.

Beyond contacts, Lusha offers company data, lookalikes, buying signals and intent topics on its paid plans. Databar adds firmographics from several company data providers, funding, job postings, tech stack, web scraping and an AI research agent for fields no database stores, like "does this company sell to healthcare?"

Is Lusha's Chrome extension better than Databar's?

For revealing a contact while you browse, yes, and it isn't close. Lusha's extension works on LinkedIn, inside CRMs, on any website and in Gmail and Google Calendar, and it can export straight to your CRM. It's on every plan, including Free. For an SDR building a call list profile by profile, that's the fastest workflow either product offers.

Databar's Chrome extension does a different job. It turns a page (a directory, a people list, search results) into structured rows in a Databar table, where you then run waterfalls and CRM exports. It's a list-building tool, not a one-click contact reveal. If your team's day is spent on individual LinkedIn profiles, Lusha fits that habit better.

Which is better for bulk and API enrichment?

This is where the products diverge most. Lusha's comparison table lists API access with strict rate limits on Free and Starter, full API and webhooks from Pro, and API Advanced on Premium. Bulk enrichment starts on Starter and CSV enrichment on Pro. Lusha also offers an MCP server on every plan, so you can query its data from Claude or ChatGPT.

Databar is built around bulk and automated runs. You can enrich a table of up to 10k rows per batch on Build or 100k on Scale, then push results to HubSpot, Salesforce, Pipedrive and other destinations (20+ in total). The same enrichments and waterfalls are available through the REST API and CLI (pip install databar for the CLI and Python SDK) and the hosted MCP server, so an agent can pick providers, run a waterfall and write rows back without a human in the loop. If you're cleaning or backfilling a CRM, our CRM enrichment guide covers the full workflow.

Does Lusha have better compliance than Databar?

Yes. Lusha lists GDPR, CCPA, SOC 2 and ISO 27701 on every plan, and adds do-not-call list support, SSO and "advanced compliance" on Scale. ISO 27701 covers privacy information management and isn't common among contact data vendors. If your procurement or legal team requires these certifications before approving a data vendor, Lusha will get through review faster.

Databar doesn't currently publish SOC 2 or ISO certifications. Each underlying provider has its own data sourcing and privacy terms, which you can review per provider. For regulated industries or strict vendor-security processes, factor that in early.

When should you choose Lusha?

  • Your reps prospect one contact at a time. The extension is the best part of the product and it's on every plan.

  • You need vendor certifications. SOC 2 and ISO 27701 are listed and easy to hand to procurement.

  • You want one simple tool. One database, one credit rule (1 for email, 5 for phone), no provider choices to make.

  • Your volume is small. A Free or Starter plan covers a single rep's lookups without any setup.

When should you choose Databar?

  • You enrich lists, not individuals. Tables, batch runs and CRM exports are the core of the product.

  • One database leaves too many blanks. Waterfalls try several email or phone providers per row and bill only the one that returns data.

  • You need more than contact fields. Company data, funding, hiring, tech stack and AI research run in the same table.

  • You're automating with code or agents. API, CLI, Python SDK and MCP all reach the same 160+ providers.

If you're still weighing options beyond these two, Lusha alternatives covers the wider field. We've written similar head-to-heads for ZoomInfo and Cognism.

FAQ

How many credits does a Lusha phone number cost?

As of September 2026, Lusha's pricing page lists 5 credits per phone number and 1 credit per verified email. Older articles, including some comparisons, still quote 10 credits per phone.

Does Lusha have an API?

Yes. Free and Starter include API access with strict rate limits, Pro adds the full API and webhooks, and Premium adds API Advanced. Lusha also offers an MCP server on all plans.

Can Databar replace Lusha for phone numbers?

For bulk phone enrichment, yes: Databar's phone waterfall runs a LinkedIn URL through several phone providers and can validate the numbers it finds. For one-click reveals while browsing LinkedIn, no. Databar doesn't have an equivalent reveal extension, so reps who work that way will find Lusha faster.

Is Lusha data included in Databar?

No. Lusha isn't a provider in Databar's catalog. Databar's email and phone waterfalls use other providers, such as LeadMagic, Prospeo, Findymail, People Data Labs and Databar's own phone lookup.

Which is cheaper for a sales team?

It depends on usage, not headcount alone. Lusha's plans include 1, 2 or 5 seats with a set number of credits. Databar's Build plan includes 3 workspace editors and Scale includes 10, with credits shared across the workspace. A small team doing individual lookups will often spend less on Lusha. A team enriching thousands of records a month, or needing company data too, usually gets more from a shared credit pool.
