Privacy Policy
Effective date: 1 October 2026
Databar, Inc. ("Databar", "we", "us") provides a data platform for businesses (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information when you visit databar.ai (the "Website"), use the Service, use our browser extension or other integrations, or otherwise interact with us. It is not part of our Terms of Service.
1. Our role
We act in different capacities depending on whose information is involved.
Our own users, visitors and prospects. For information about the people who visit our Website, create accounts, use the Service on behalf of a customer, contact us or receive our marketing, we are the controller (or, under US state privacy laws, the business). This Privacy Policy is written mainly for them.
Data our customers bring to the Service. Customers upload, import, connect and generate data in the Service, including data returned by integrations they run on their own accounts. For that data we act as a processor (or service provider) on the customer's instructions, under our Terms of Service and Data Processing Addendum. If your information is in a customer's Workspace and you want to exercise rights over it, please contact that customer; they decide how it is used.
Data retrieved from third-party data providers. When a customer runs an enrichment, the Service may retrieve data from third-party data providers at the customer's request. The customer is the controller of the results in its Workspace and decides how they are used. We act as a controller only for any provider data we keep for our own purposes, such as operating and securing the Service and preventing abuse, and not for the contents of any customer's tables. Section 9 explains what this means for people whose information appears in enrichment results.
2. Information we collect
Information you give us. This may include your name, email address, company name and website, job title, password, billing and payment details (full payment card numbers are collected and stored by our payment processor, not by us), the content of your messages to support, feedback and survey responses, and anything else you choose to provide. Account information is required to use the Service; without it we cannot provide you with an account.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Website or use the Service we may collect device, browser and network information such as IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring pages, pages viewed, actions taken in the product, timestamps and diagnostic data. At account creation we may also record the IP address, browser identifiers and a browser fingerprint identifier for the device used to sign up, and may derive an approximate location from the IP address. We may use this information, together with usage and payment signals, to detect fraud, account sharing and abuse, to link related accounts, to confirm that an account is a legitimate business and to keep the Service secure.
Information from other sources. We may receive information about you from the customer whose Workspace you use, from the sign-in provider you choose (such as Google), from our payment processor, from partners and marketplaces through which you obtained access, from publicly available sources and from third-party data providers, and we may combine it with information we already hold.
Account enrichment and verification. When you sign up, we may look up your email address and company domain with third-party data providers to obtain professional and company information about you (such as your role, company, industry and company size). We may use it for the purposes described in Section 3, including to personalize the Service, to understand who our customers are, to verify that you are signing up on behalf of a business, and to keep the Service secure.
Information from connected accounts. If you connect a third-party account (a CRM, a spreadsheet, an email tool, an AI provider or any other integration) to the Service, we may receive the data that account makes available to the connection and the credentials needed to use it.
Browser extension. Our Chrome extension runs locally in your own browser session. It reads the content of the pages you collect from and sends that content to your Workspace, using the Databar credentials stored in your browser. It does not collect your browsing history.
3. How we use information
We may use personal information to provide, operate, secure and improve the Service and Website; to create, verify and manage accounts and Workspaces and to personalize your experience; to process payments and manage subscriptions; to provide support and respond to requests; to detect, investigate and prevent fraud, abuse, account sharing and breaches of our terms, including through automated systems that may restrict or suspend an account; to understand how the Service is used and to develop new features; to send service, security and billing communications; to send marketing communications where the law allows, which you can opt out of at any time; to comply with legal obligations and enforce our agreements; and for any other purpose we describe when we collect the information or to which you consent.
We do not use customer data, enrichment results or prompts to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. Where the Service uses AI models to provide a feature, the data sent to the model provider is used to return that feature's output and is otherwise handled under the provider's own terms.
4. How we disclose information
Service providers. We may share information with our affiliates and with companies that help us run the business, under contracts that limit what they may do with it. They include providers of hosting and infrastructure, product analytics, payment processing, transactional email, customer support, error monitoring, website analytics, advertising measurement, feedback tools, sales and marketing tools, and AI models. We may change providers or add new ones at any time.
Data providers and AI providers. To run an enrichment, we may send the inputs the customer submits (for example a name, an email address, a domain or a profile URL) to the data provider or AI model provider concerned so that it can return a result. What a provider does with those inputs is governed by its own terms and privacy policy.
Customers and their users. Information you provide while using a customer's Workspace is visible to that customer and to the other users it authorizes.
Partners and marketplaces. If you obtained access through a partner, reseller or marketplace, we may share account and usage information with them in connection with your plan.
Legal, safety and corporate. We may disclose information to comply with law, regulation, legal process or a government request; to enforce our terms and protect our rights, property, users and the public; to detect and prevent fraud and security issues; and to a buyer, investor, successor or adviser in connection with a financing, merger, acquisition, reorganization or sale of all or part of our business.
With your direction or consent. We may disclose information to third parties when you ask us to, for example when you export data to another tool, and in other cases with your consent.
We may share aggregated or de-identified information that does not identify you for any purpose, and we do not attempt to re-identify it.
5. Cookies and similar technologies
We and our service providers use cookies, pixels, local storage and similar technologies on the Website and in the Service to keep you signed in, remember your settings, understand how the Website and Service are used, measure the effectiveness of our marketing and to support advertising. Advertising and analytics partners may collect information about your activity on the Website and on other websites over time. You can control cookies through your browser settings and, where we provide them, through the cookie controls on our Website; blocking some cookies may affect how the Website or Service works. We do not respond to browser "Do Not Track" signals.
6. Retention
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to comply with legal, tax or accounting obligations, resolve disputes, enforce our agreements and detect and prevent fraud, abuse and account sharing, taking into account the nature of the information and why we hold it. Data in a customer's Workspace is kept for as long as the customer keeps it, subject to the retention and deletion rules in our Terms of Service and Data Processing Addendum. Copies may persist in backups for a period after deletion. We may retain aggregated or de-identified information indefinitely.
7. Security
We maintain technical and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, use, alteration and disclosure, appropriate to the nature of the information and the size of our business. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee that unauthorized access will never occur. You are responsible for keeping your credentials confidential and for the security of the systems and accounts you connect to the Service.
8. Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access the personal information we hold about you, to correct or delete it, to receive a copy in a portable format, to object to or restrict certain processing, to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information or of targeted advertising or profiling, to request human review of a solely automated decision that has a legal or similarly significant effect on you, to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent, and to appeal a decision we make about your request. We will not discriminate against you for exercising your privacy rights.
To exercise any right, email info@databar.ai from the email address associated with your account, or tell us enough for us to verify your identity. We may ask for more information to verify the request. You may authorize an agent to make a request on your behalf where the law allows. Because the Service is for businesses, we may send product updates and marketing to your account email address on the basis of our legitimate interest in promoting the Service to our customers. You can opt out of marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in any message; we will still send service and billing communications.
If your information appears in a customer's Workspace, please contact that customer, who is responsible for responding to it.
9. People whose information appears in enrichment results
If a Databar customer runs an enrichment about you, the Service may retrieve contact, professional and company information about you from third-party data providers for that customer. We do this only at the customer's request and for the customer's own business purposes.
If a customer has contacted you, please get in touch with that customer, which is responsible for its use of your information, or with the data provider that originally collected it. For any information we hold about you ourselves, you have the rights described in Section 8 and can contact us at info@databar.ai.
10. International transfers
We are based in the United States and process information there and in other countries where we or our service providers operate. Where we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and the UK Addendum, or on an adequacy decision, as described in our Data Processing Addendum.
11. Notice to people in the EEA, UK and Switzerland
Where we act as controller, our legal bases are: performance of a contract (providing the Service and Website to you or your organization); our legitimate interests (running, securing, personalizing and improving the Service, verifying accounts, preventing fraud and abuse, marketing to business contacts, and enabling customers to obtain enrichment results for their own legitimate business purposes), balanced against your rights; your consent, where we ask for it, which you may withdraw at any time; and compliance with legal obligations. You may lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
12. Notice to residents of US states with privacy laws
Over the past 12 months we have collected the categories of personal information described in Section 2, from the sources described there, for the purposes in Section 3, and disclosed them to the categories of recipients in Section 4. Other than the login credentials needed to run and secure your account, we do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information about our own users, and we do not sell or share the personal information of our own users or Website visitors for cross-context behavioral advertising, although some advertising cookies may be treated as a sale or share, which you can opt out of through your browser or cookie settings. Section 9 describes how we handle information about people in enrichment results. You have the rights described in Section 8, including the right to appeal a denied request by replying to our decision.
13. Google API and third-party platform data
Our use of information received from Google APIs complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements: we use Google user data only to provide or improve user-facing features of the Service, we do not use it for advertising, we do not allow humans to read it except with your permission, for security or legal reasons, or for internal operations on aggregated data, we do not transfer it except to provide the Service, as required by law or in a corporate transaction, and we do not use it to develop, improve or train generalized AI or machine-learning models. Information we receive through other connected platforms is used only to provide the features you enable, subject to those platforms' terms.
14. Children
The Service and Website are for businesses and are not directed to anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact us and we will take appropriate steps, which may include deleting it.
15. Third-party sites
The Website and Service link to and connect with third-party sites and services whose privacy practices we do not control. Their privacy policies govern the information they collect.
16. Changes
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on the Website with a new effective date and may notify you of material changes by other means, such as in the Service or by email. Your continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Privacy Policy.
